How is my membership fee used?
We pride ourselves on offering the lowest membership fees of any single-model car club. Your membership fee goes directly towards essential running costs, including the website, event equipment and insurance required to safely run club activities.
Importantly, no payments are made to any members of the management team, apart from reimbursement of legitimate expenses incurred while carrying out official club duties. This ensures that all funds are used solely to benefit the club and its members.
Why should I become a member?
The club welcomes all enthusiasts and owners of the Mk1 Focus, whether in original or near-original condition. As a single-model car club, we are able to offer unrivalled support tailored specifically to the Mk1—a focus that becomes increasingly valuable as these cars age and become rarer.
Beyond technical support, the club also offers a strong social aspect, bringing together like-minded individuals who share a passion for the car. Since our formation, countless long-term friendships have been formed through club meets, events, and online forums.
Becoming a paid member gives you access to the club’s full range of services, as detailed in the “The Club” section of this website. Some of these services come with significant costs to provide, and your membership helps ensure we can continue delivering them at a high standard for years to come.
What are the requirements in order to join?
While we warmly welcome as many prospective members as possible, it is important to uphold a key requirement that reflects the mission and values agreed upon by the club’s management since its inception. This is fundamentally a preservation club. As such we place a strong emphasis on originality or a limited amount of subtle modifications. This standard helps us maintain the integrity of the club’s purpose and ensures that the cars we support remain true to the spirit of the original design.
As a clear guideline for prospective members, any examples featuring the following modifications will not be permitted under any circumstances: coilovers, extreme camber, de-cats, bonnet vents, body kits, and non-OEM wheels. If you are unsure whether a modification is acceptable, please contact us prior to joining for clarification.
Do I need to own a MK1 Focus to join?
Membership is open to all enthusiasts, regardless of their current ownership status—as long as the owner meets the club’s criteria on originality outlined above. Whether you own a rough project, a pristine show car, or no car at all, you’re welcome here. We have a diverse range of members who enjoy their Mk1 Focuses in many different ways. Some are daily driven, others are used sparingly, and many are currently off the road for restoration or repairs—both short and long term.
We also proudly welcome those who are passionate about the Mk1 Focus but are between cars, or simply admire the model for what it represents.
What is the age range of members in the club?
We have a massively diverse membership base ranging from 18 to 80! Everyone is welcome.
Do you have a classifieds area?
At present, due to low demand, we do not have a dedicated classifieds section on this website. However, we highly recommend that members join our official Facebook group, which features a dedicated “Buy & Sell” section. On that platform members can advertise or search for Mk1 Focus parts and vehicles within a trusted community of like-minded enthusiasts.
Do you offer family memberships or concessions?
We do not offer concession rates or family memberships as our standard membership fee is already lower or equivalent to concession/family fees of most other clubs.
