Types of Archive Material
The ‘Specification’ brochures have always been an interest for those preserving their MK1 and want to find what it may have been equipped with or the options available from new, absolutely perfect for the purist.
The ‘Accessory’ brochures, again very rare to find and give an insight into what ultra-rare options were available, most have never been seen and probably never purchased with the new car.
The ‘Price Guide brochures are even rarer to find as most people binned them, giving a sense of nostalgia at how far your money stretched back then!
‘Press Photographs’ are always a delight and we are looking to expand this collection if any become available.
The ‘Miscellaneous’ section is a right-mix, full of reprints, guides, magazines and even a calendar!
Those with a technical interest will enjoy the extremely rare ‘Technical Training’ manuals which are almost impossible to locate in English.
Lastly, the club is exceptionally lucky to have in its possession the official Geneva Launch Brochure, the first marketing material for the MK1 and a Dealership Launch Kit which has been carefully scanned and photographed for you to enjoy.
Enjoy!
